Walorski Statement on President’s Budget Proposal

Wednesday, February 10, 2016

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Jackie Walorski, (IN-02) today issued the following statement on President Obama’s FY2017 budget proposal:

“When he was a candidate, Barack Obama pledged not to raise taxes on the middle class. Eight years later, the last budget of his presidency puts the final nail in the coffin on that promise and buries it in a grave of tax hikes and mounting debt. It is disappointing that President Obama shirked his responsibility to budget sensibly with unserious and unworkable proposals that would raise gas prices, further hold back economic growth, and do nothing to address the real challenges facing our country. I am committed to working with my colleagues in the House to lay out a vision for the United States that gets government out of the way of job creators and ensures Americans both at home and abroad are safe in an increasingly dangerous and uncertain world.”
