WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Jackie Walorski (IN-02) issued the following statement regarding the President’s budget proposal:

“The President’s budget is the latest testament to his unfortunate disconnect with the American people. Considering his plan is 65 days late for submission, it is discouraging that the White House could not offer a more legitimate budget to drive down our $16.8 trillion debt and create more jobs—already admitting it never balances. The House passed a responsible budget that balances in 10 years without raising taxes, serving in sharp contrast to the President’s plan with more than $1 trillion in new taxes and $964 billion in spending increases. The American people understand that balancing a checkbook is a basic responsibility for families and businesses—a stubborn fact that cannot be rebranded by political rhetoric. It is time to pass a balanced budget that creates jobs to move our country in the right direction. Moving forward, I encourage the President to come to the table with workable solutions instead of more irresponsible policies.”
