WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Jackie Walorski released the following statement regarding today’s House vote on the Farm Bill:
“I supported this bill because it is a step in the right direction toward providing critical support and assistance for Hoosier farmers. After spending hours with farmers around the district, touring family farms and joining roundtable discussions, it is clear that Hoosiers want a farm bill to provide certainty in the agriculture community.
“Splitting the bill allows lawmakers to responsibly assess and debate priorities and funding levels for food stamp policy and agriculture assistance. These are two separate discussions the American people deserve to hear from Congress, and today’s passing vote finally moves the ball down the court for the agriculture industry.”
