WASHINGTON D.C. – Rep. Jackie Walorski (IN-02) made the following statement after the announcement that Notre Dame plans to open a jet engine research facility:
“Today’s announcement is just another example of how Indiana continues to lead the country in attracting investments to bring high-quality, high-paying jobs to the Hoosier workforce. Talented engineers will research with the best and brightest to develop cutting edge equipment for our aviation industry right here in South Bend. Our effectiveness as a global leader with a competitive workforce is directly linked to providing jobs with in-demand skills. Congratulation to Notre Dame for providing an opportunity for Indiana, and the country, to continue to lead the world in our global economy.”
Last Friday, the Indiana Department of Workforce Development reported Indiana’s job growth numbers are some of the best in the country, including one of the lowest declines in unemployment and a surge in manufacturing and private sector job growth.
