Walorski Statement on Confirmation of Katherine Tai as U.S. Trade Representative
WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.) today released the following statement on the Senate confirmation of Katherine Tai as U.S. Trade Representative:
“Congratulations to Katherine Tai on her confirmation as U.S. Trade Representative. I’ve seen firsthand her knowledge as a trade lawyer, skill as a negotiator, and determination as a bipartisan consensus builder. These qualities will no doubt serve American manufacturers, farmers, and workers well as she takes on this new role.
“I look forward to working together on issues that will be of vital importance to our nation’s economic recovery, including renewal of GSP and MTB, relief and long-term certainty related to Section 301 tariffs, enforcement of USMCA, and targeted actions that counter China’s unfair trade practices without harming American businesses and farmers.”
Walorski represents the 2nd Congressional District of Indiana, serving as a member of the House Ways and Means Committee and the Ranking Member of the House Ethics Committee.
