MISHAWAKA, IN – Congresswoman Jackie Walorski (IN-02) today announced her office will be accepting artwork for the 2014 Congressional Art Competition. This is a nationwide art competition open to all high school students sponsored by the United States House of Representatives. Any legal high school resident of the Second District is eligible to submit artwork to the Mishawaka District Office or the Rochester Field Office (drop off times in Rochester are 8am – 5pm Tuesday and Thursday only)

Artwork will be judged by a panel of art professionals from the Second District and Facebook “shares” on Congresswoman Walorski’s official page. The first place winner will have their artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol for an entire year and win a pair of round-trip airline tickets to Washington D.C., with other special prizes for the second and third place finishers.

The Congressional Art Competition was established in 1982 to give members of Congress the opportunity to recognize and encourage artistic talent amongst their constituents.
