WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Jackie Walorski (IN-02) issued the following statement after voting for H.R. 644, the Conference Report to the Trade Facilitation and Trade Enforcement Act of 2015, which will help foster economic competitiveness and protect American jobs enhancing protections against unfair foreign competition, reducing barriers to legitimate trade, making our exports more competitive, and facilitating small business competition in the global marketplace:
“Manufacturing is the backbone of the Hoosier economy and nearly a quarter of jobs in my district are manufacturing jobs – the second-highest rate in the nation. This legislation will make our manufacturers more competitive by providing new tools to tackle evasion of U.S. trade remedies and intellectual property theft. I look forward to working to find new, innovative ways for our Indiana businesses and manufacturers to thrive and create more Hoosier jobs.”
