WALORSKI STATEMENT ON PASSAGE OF THE ALICIA DAWN KOEHL RESPECT FOR NATIONAL CEMETERIES ACT

Wednesday, December 11, 2013

WASHINGTON, D.C.- Congresswoman Jackie Walorski released the following statement after the House of Representatives passed the Alicia Dawn Koehl Respect for National Cemeteries Act, S.1471:

“Approval of this legislation brings the VA one step closer to correcting this intolerable mistake. I appreciate the bipartisan effort, spearheaded by Senator Dan Coats and Congresswoman Susan Brooks, to pass this bill and bring peace of mind to the servicemembers and families impacted by this error. We must continue to preserve the sanctity of our national cemeteries and ensure convicted criminals are not laid to rest beside our fallen veterans.”
