Documents containing personal information of four veterans – including one from Indiana – were left unattended for two to three days in a “common area” of a federal building in Cleveland, the Department of Veterans Affairs confirmed to I-Team 8.
U.S. Rep. Jackie Walorski’s “Home Grown Business Tour” brought her to American Oak Preserving Company in North Judson yesterday. President and Chairman of the Board Charles Vorm represents the third generation to run the company since his grandfather founded it in 1916. His three daughters assist in the day-to-day operations of the business. Walorski says it’s important for members of Congress to listen to successful business owners in their districts.
More than 40,000 homeless veterans who reached out for help from a national Veterans Affairs call center last year didn’t get connected with the services they needed. Much of the time, they didn’t even get a real person.

Indiana is home to more than 500,000 military veterans. The Michiana community is dedicated to showing their appreciation to these men and women any way they can. The latest was the 5K Sweat for Vets. U.S. Representative Jackie Walorski was on hand for the event and spoke about the importance of serving veterans. "We know that we owe them a debt of gratitude, and there's no way to really say thank you," Walorski said.
